FAQ's

How are the PreK students selected?  What determines who gets in the program?
Students are screened and parents fill out a questionnaire. The schools use that information to select a class that is representative of the school population. Our goal is to select a diverse group of students with a mix of skills and strengths. We do not take the "bottom 16" or "top 16," and we do not use a lottery system. A waiting list will be maintained for families whose children are not selected but would like to be considered if a spot opens up.
If my child  goes to a daycare by another school in the district can I apply at that school?
Generally, students are eligible for Pre K in the town they live in, not where they attend day care. Contact the principal of your home school if you feel special circumstances apply to your situation.

How many PreK students are allowed at each school?
Each of the 4 schools that have PreK have one classroom with 16 students.

How do I get notified if my student is selected for PreK?
The school will contact the parent/guardian letting them know.   Then, once the school informs the registrar's office, the pending enrollment will be processed and an enrollment accepted email will be sent.

Does my child need to attend school in the town they live in?
Yes.  Contact the principal of your home school if you feel special circumstances apply to your situation.

About the documents listed below: We have also included some supplemental forms that you may download and return to the school when your student starts.

We do ask the Transportation Form be completed prior to or at the time of registration IF the pick-up and/or drop-off location is different than the home address.  If the pick-up and drop-off location is the home address the form does NOT need to be completed.
